Services & Fees

We’ll start with a no-risk, FREE consultation so we can get to know each other a little. We will meet in your home or your favorite coffee shop to talk about your hopes and plans for your birth, maybe unpack a few of your worries, and to answer questions about what a doula does. We can decide if we are a good fit for each other and discuss any questions you or your partner might have.

My fee for birth doula services is $1200. I offer a $150 discount for active duty military and for former clients*.  I am happy to work with you to find a payment option that will best suit your needs.

What my clients say:

Having Crystal sitting beside me, reminding me how to breathe and when to breathe, made me believe I could do it. Having her eye contact through each contraction reaffirmed that I could do it. Then when my labor changed and it was time to push, her soft voice, but strong words, telling me what I had to do to finish what felt like a marathon, gave me the courage and skills to deliver my baby. I could not have done it without her. - Sara

What I provide my clients:

• 1-2 prenatal appointments — These are unique to your pregnancy and needs. At these meetings, we will review your priorities and concerns regarding your birth. Your prenatal appointments can be a time for us to get to know each other better, used to answer your questions, or we can go over breathing, pain-coping techniques and comfort measures we can use during labor. One of your prenatal appointments can be a birth art session or we can arrange my attendance at 1 prenatal appointment with your doctor or midwife if you desire it.

• Unlimited support via phone, email and text message before your birth, and during the postpartum period (within normal business hours)

• On call labor support 24/7 for the month surrounding your estimated due date

• Assistance in creating a birth plan

• Continuous labor support once active labor is established. Once you are certain that you are in labor and you are ready for me to come, I will meet you at your home until you are ready to go to the hospital/birth center or I can meet you directly at the facility. I remain with you for the duration of your labor.

• Comfort techniques during labor — these can include breathing & relaxation exercises, positioning suggestions, touch/counter pressure and more. I will always endeavor to help your partner provide this support first and foremost.

• Support for your partner during labor — this can include getting your partner snacks or water or allowing your partner the ability to take a quick nap or a respite if it is needed.

• I remain for at least an hour or 2 after the birth — to provide assistance in establishing breastfeeding and to make sure you & baby are settled and comfortable.

• 1 postpartum visit in your home, within the first few weeks of your baby’s birth to talk about your birth experience, check to see how breastfeeding is going and just generally see how you and your family is doing.

• I retain a back up doula in the rare event that I am unable to attend your birth.

PLUS:

  • Access to my lending library of books and videos on pregnancy, birth & more!
  • Access to my lending library of cloth diapers & accessories, and baby carriers and wraps.

I am always happy to schedule a phone consult to answer questions about services and pricing.

Birth Doula Fee: $1200

Deposit & Payment Arrangements - I require a $400 deposit when we sign the contract to reserve your spot on my calendar. The balance is due by your 35th week of pregnancy. I can take payments via cash, check or credit/debit card. We can structure the payment arrangements to fit your family's needs. Note: If you choose to retain me after the beginning of your 35th week of pregnancy, the total fee is due with your signed contract.

PLUS – when you pay in full with your signed contract (before 35 weeks), a donation is made in your name to Open Arms Perinatal Support (a 501c3 that provides perinatal services and doulas to women in need)!

*If you are a former client, I am happy to talk to you about price, if necessary.
Please don’t let price keep you from being in touch!  I will always do what I can to ensure we are able to work together again if possible.
